Digg the Design: Music Sites that Stands out

Web designers, Doctor, Engineers, Bus Drivers and etc no matter  what  you are, everyone likes music. Music is an universal language. This week’s web sites review I have decided to review/share music sites that has good interface, user intuitive and easy to use. Some of the sites you might already know. One thing to note most of this are flash based. I tired to test to couple of them using IE tester and it just froze ( Another reason to Dump IE 6).  I am not going to talk about Lastfm, Imeem or Pandora because they are mainstream music sites. I always look for free ans alternatives. Let me stop the word of wisdom’s and get to the sites.

GrooveShark

I found grooveshark  couple of months ago. I was trying to find a site to share music online and I found Grooveshark. This is a P2P service.  You can share  any kind of music with your friends. This sites had little Java application that allows to upload songs. Continue Reading

First thing I should be saying is “Give Thanks.” I love open source community. Different programmers and developers all over the world lets us their products and works. There are at lest 10- 15 open source software in my computer right now. Hey wait, I am blogging on WordPress CMS and that’s free too. You see, without these open source software our lives might fall apart. First here are the must have web designer software and then Mac and PC.

Smultron: A text is a web designer, developer must have software. Forget BBedit, (which is paid) and Text Wrangler, Once you use Smultron, you will never like anything else. I can use use any FTP Software and edit the CSS, PHP, HTML, Javscript file form the server with Smultron. Also, if you are editing HTML files, Smultron Generates a little thumbnails on the sidebar making it easy to see how the pages looks like. I love it so much. Continue Reading
