Everyone wants more traffic, more visitors and more subscribers. There are so many post about how to increase your blog traffic. What makes this post different then those other posts ? Well maybe not so different or maybe totally different. I have read numerous amount of article about increasing blog traffic before developing my own tactics. That’s my first and most important tips of all.  Read all the useful tips you find on the web and then develop your own way.  I will try to be list the things that really works. Design and Posting

When you pick a design for your blog make sure you choose the right design. Don’t pick a clunky theme or template. Look here and you will know what I am talking about.  Also go easy on the ad.

Every blog a I read about increasing website traffic, suggest that you post daily to get more subscribers, but lets be honest. We all have other things to do unless you are professional blogger and that’s what you do for living. I try to write two post a week, but sometimes I get busy. What you should do is get your post ready on the weekend and publish them on the weekdays keeping 2-3 days gap between the post. This way all post gets same exposure and same amount of readers. If you write quality posts the readers will keep subscribing no matter what and you will establish some loyal readers and subscriber. There are also, some other subscribers who “pops-in and out” every time there is a new post.

Submit your Feed to RSS directory.

When you submit  your feed to these rss submission site you will gain more subscribers. I am pretty sure I don’t need to talk about Feedburner, but in case you did not know read this. Here are two places where you can find all the website you can submit your feed to

Leave a Comment & Get a Comment

Whenever you find an interesting and useful information let the author know.  Obviously, when you leaving a comment, you are obviously your are leaving your url too, which allows the author and other readers to visit your blog. I can’t speak for everyone out there but whenever anyone leaves a comment on my post I usually visit their and If I see a useful post I tweet it! I am sure many bloggers will agree with me.

If you are running wordpress install CommentLuv. It is a wordpress plugin, which shows the latest post of the user.

Use the Power of Social Networking Sites:

Stumbleupon is one of the sites that I get most of visitors from, next to delicious. Social networking can drive lots of traffic if you correctly use them. I can’t say much about Digg because lets face it , they only way the to get on the top of digg list If you write for a big tech magazine  or you have a really weird video or pictures or maybe you write really really good. Anyhow here somethings that can get you more visitors:

1. Start a Stumbleupon Campaign.
2. Use Technorati to tag your post. Sometime It is a hassle to claim the blog, But Once your are done, it can help your site get more visitor.
3. List useful tips and links. These helps to get more delicious bookmarks.

Tweet, Tweet, Tweet

If you have not discovered twitter, then you must be living the dark ages. It is the most talked about site on the web these days. Using twitter you can share useful links and get more readers and get more new inf0. The more you follow and the more follower you will get and it will increase you blog readers. If  you make sure site SEO optimized the searchbots are supposed to find your site, but I submitted my blog to dominant search engines, so should you just to make sure.

Blog About the Best Resources Sharing Sites

What I mean by best resources is finding the best pictures, backgrounds , patterns  from flickr, deviantART, TextureKing or useful sites like that. Do not just pick random 10 pictures and blog about it. Do your homework, do some reasearch, take your time and find the best resources. When I wrote, 50+ textures for Your Design Appetite and lot more Resources , which got lots of feedback , I took at least 3-4 days on finding those good textures. Moreover, don’t forget to say thanks to the folks who share their work.

Follow Web-Design Related Blogs/Websites.

Web designer or not , everyone with blog or website should follow web design related blogs. You might ask why is that necessary? It is because in web design blogs there are always useful information, freebies and tips and building, customizing websites and lots more resources. Who do you think knows the Web World better then anybody? Obviously web designer, developers and web masters. I am pretty sure if you run into any problem with your blog design or coding you will end up in one of the web design blogs
